Out of the House and into Kitty

So, let’s talk about Las Vegas for a second…

I will be the first to admit that it is NOT my favorite place to travel to but that being said, I went two weeks ago for the ACM Awards and had a pretty great time, as I should have expected. All of Nashville was there, so seeing so many familiar faces definitely improved the overall vibe of the smoke filled casino at the MGM. The weather could not have been better and I made best friends with a pool chair and the sun. Leaving though, is always a reminder of why it is not my favorite place, I swear I am still tired from a mere 3 nights there. It took me at least three full days to function again after returning home but I have recovered, I think.

The ACM Awards were a blast as always and it was such a treat to have the Dry House in Vegas this year. I know that I am not alone in thinking this, so thank you Ali and the rest of the girls for being there! You all knocked it out of the park and I felt like an absolute rockstar. Here are a couple of photos from the night.

Beach Waves with Straight Ends @ Kitty, East Nashville

THE HAIR

So this is the 305 at the Dry House but with a twist and has quickly become one of my very favorite hairstyles. I have been on a total 70’s kick lately with my style and I feel like this look totally compliments all of the Mila Kunis from That 70’s Show outfits I have been trying to rock lately. We gave my hair texture with some long and large beach waves and then flat ironed the ends for an edgier look. It’s also a great thing to think about when you are on day two or three of your blowout, especially for people with long locks like me. After a couple of days, my ends start to look a little haggard and running the flat iron over them smooths them and totally changes the look! So fun and something I never would have thought of without the guidance from the Dry House.

THE LOCATION

Kitty is about as cool as a boutique can get and so is the owner Sarah Davidson. Sarah is in a band called Stella James and the rockstar that she is can be felt all over her shop. Kitty is located in East Nashville, which is also where I call home. I have lived in East Nashville for over four years now and it’s hard to see myself anywhere else. I absolutely LOVE it. Such a unique collection of restaurants, shops, bars and heck, people too! Kitty is nestled in with some amazing boutiques and the infamous Barista Parlor, but you will not miss it because of the kickass old school car out front with the logo on it. Kitty’s vibe is retro in the most chic and inviting way. Record players, incredible mirrors and furry rugs, it’s hard to not want to stick around all day. They also offer pretty much anything from a clothing standpoint. Items range from a trendy, sassy graphic tee to a long elegant dress. It is a guarantee that you will walk out with something. They also carry their manager’s jewelry line, Rain & Rust. Her pieces are so cool and so unique. Check out the large stone in the image above for a visual but better yet head to Kitty and check it all out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed. (I definitely left with the purple jacket in the first photo).
