Out of the House and Into Revv!
As I say pretty much every time I see the date,
TIME FLIES! I cannot believe that we are already nearing the end of January. This month has gone by so quickly! For those of you not in Nashville, we got some SERIOUS snow last week. It certainly was not the 30+ inches that areas like Baltimore, DC and northeast PA saw but for our region, it was a lot! And in true Nashville fashion, it was gone as quickly as it came. A couple of days over 50 degrees will do that!
While the snow was here though, my dogs thoroughly enjoyed it. The morning that it started, they noticed some canine friends playing out in their front yards, so we of course joined in on the fun. My heart was so full watching them run through the snow with the neighbor’s dogs. Such carefree bliss, fun and freedom. It was also a really cool moment for the dog moms I think. We are all so busy and wrapped up in our own lives, that we really don’t know each other. We see each other in passing a lot of days but we never have taken the time to really talk. I knew the names of their dogs but didn’t even know their names! Now I can say I have two new friends in the neighborhood thanks to a snowy day and my two fur babies. Please check out this picture of them in their winter wear….I CAN’T EVEN. Chief & Joy, you are utter perfection.
I am heading to Florida this weekend for a short trip. My boyfriend will be playing a couple of shows in the state. I was so looking forward to some nice, warm, Florida weather and then saw it is going to be 65 in Nashville this weekend….isn’t that how it always goes? Nonetheless, I am still excited for a couple of days on the road!
January 28th, 2016
I am going to provide some photographic evidence for you here. I wore my hair straight and only straight for a VERY, VERY long time.
Not long ago, I realized that you could do your hair in ways other than straight but in true me fashion, I adopted wavy hair as my only hairstyle and never looked back. Bye, bye straight hair…or so I thought.
Ali, the owner of the Dry House, did my hair for a wedding in October and she straightened my hair. I had not straightened my hair in so long that it was shockingly an adjustment for me. You would not think that considering I spent a good 10 years of my life with straight hair only but nonetheless it was. Going back to the old trusty made me realize… you can wear your hair a multitude of ways NOT just one way. SHOCKING, I know. Thanks to Ali and the Dry House, I will not be trapped in wavy hair land for 10 years like I was in straight hair land and you don’t have to be trapped either! Yay for hairstyles.
REVV IS THE NEW BLACK. I am so obsessed with the sign in this Hillsboro Village boutique. They also have the cutest Mean Girls themed rug when you walk through the door.
Cute right? Revv is a standout boutique in Hillsboro Village. Visually, it has so many eye catching elements, like the Revv sign or the pipe-like racks or the killer lighting in the dressing rooms. The clothes are right on trend, totally affordable and constantly changing. This is owner Laci’s second baby, the first being a shop called The Rage in Arkansas. I came in the first time right after they opened and loved hearing her story and how she wanted Revv to be The Rage’s edgier sister, which is the perfect fit for Nashville. Check out Laci’s story on their website here. I have so much respect for someone who takes risks and goes after what they want. Such an admirable quality in someone, especially someone who is only 26! Girl, you rock. Go check them out, you will not be disappointed and I guarantee you will walk out the door with a great addition to your wardrobe.
